The Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village, located within the lush 6,300-acre World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Florida, is offering a special “Stay & Playrenaissance_resort_at_world_golf_village.jpg Package” in celebration of the near-completion of its extensive $10 million property-wide renovation. Through January 15, 2008, you can take advantage of this package, which includes a round of golf-for-two on its renowned King & Bear championship golf course, or its popular Slammer & Squire championship course. The package also includes accommodations, breakfast-for-two daily, and range balls, according to Mark Schwantner, general manager of the award-winning resort.

Amelia Island Plantation Previews Clubhouse, Reveals Renaming of Course

Amelia River Golf Club, one of four signature courses operated by Amelia Island Plantation, has opened its 3,700-square-foot-plus clubhouse and revealedAmelia Island Plantation officially the golf club's new name. Opened as Royal Amelia in 2000, Amelia River Golf Club was purchased by the Amelia Island Company in 2005, joining Oak Marsh, Ocean Links, and Long Point in the company's stable of championship golf courses.  The new name reflects better the beauty of the course, as well as its location adjacent to the Amelia River on Amelia Island.  The clubhouse restaurant will open in December.

The choicest accommodations at Amelia Island Plantation are the spacious condominium "villas." On our last visit, our quiet, comfortable, one-bedroom condo in the Sandcastles building featured a king-size bed, living room, two televisions, oceanfront balcony and fully-equipped kitchen. The beach was only a few steps away and the small pool serving Sandcastles suited our Florida golf vacation just fine.
