Hidden Hills Country Club is one of the more storied venues in all of Florida. Home to a number of battles on the golf course during the heyday of the Greater Jacksonville Open, won by Don January, Gary Player, and Tony Jacklin (respectively) from 1970-72 at the club, Hidden Hills also stands on a historic battleground that witnessed the fierce struggles between France and Spain.

The layout was redesigned by the King in 1988, some 16 years after the last Greater Jacksonville Open, the forerunner to today’s PLAYERS Championship.

“It’s a classic Palmer course with lots of elevation changes, curves and contours in the fairways and quite a few holes where the best decision is to leave your driver in the bag,” Hopkins said. “You never really get tired of playing Hidden Hills because it requires such a variety of shots. Our greens are mostly all elevated, so if you are going to get on the green, you’ll have to do it through the air. That is what makes it one of the most challenging courses in Florida.”
